SciLink In The News

I’m extremely proud to announce that SciLink was recently featured in Bio-IT World magazine. You can read the article here . We will also be featured in a number of other magazines. I’ll keep you updated as these articles are released.

Updates, Updates, Updates

I know the blog has been very quiet lately. I apologize  for not updating more often. To make amends, I am proud to announce another SciLink update with many, many feature enhancements, new functionality and bug fixes! Here’s the  summary:

  • Tree of Science - We’ve overhauled the TOS making major improvements to the design, look and feel and way you connect with other users. We no longer require time based information when showing your relationships, improved the way you connect to other users and include your unconnected network in the search dialog to make it easier for you to show your relationships.
  • Tree Of Science Widgets!! - Want to put the tree on your lab or corporate website? Now you can! See it in action.  Contact us to find out more brian@scilink.com
  •  Groups - we’ve added groups to the system! Create a group, topic and start a discussion with your friends or colleagues. We’ve started our own SciLink group for you to interact with us.
  •   PDF dumps of your profile - you can now dump your profile out as a pdf document to send to a potential employer. We are also offering the ability to dump an entire booklet of profiles for organizations who might need this functionality. To inquire about this functionality contact us at support@scilnk.com
  • Pictures, Pictures, Pictures - pictures are now an integral part of the website and can be found everywhere to easily find people you know
  • Network Activity - We’ve rolled up a lot of the network’s activity onto the dashboard page so you have a better chance of making a connection and get a feeling for overall activity in the SciLink network.
  • Overall enhancements to the site’s design and handling of your colleagues etc. We now just do the right thing when listing your colleagues and network listing them in alphabetical order by default
  • Lot’s and Lot’s of bug fixes. Too many to list here. Suffice to say we’ve fixed over 120 bugs in this release!

So, give it a spin, start a group and enjoy all the hard work we’ve put into this release!
